University of Cambridge

Overview

The Faculty of Law at the University of Cambridge is one of the best law schools on the planet and has a stellar reputation for high quality teaching and legal research. The Faculty has 23 professors, 7 readers, 10 Senior Lecturers and more than 70 other University, Faculty and College Teaching Officers. The teaching members are specialists in most areas of English law as well as legal philosophy, criminology, the laws of other nations, European Community law, public and private international law, the history of English law and Roman law. Approximately 6% of undergraduates at the University of Cambridge are studying law. The student body is composed of around 700 undergraduate and 250 graduate students. University of Oxford

Overview

The Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford is one of the largest and oldest in the country. There are a group of thirty law schools at the different colleges at the University of Oxford. There are 153 academics in the Faculty and the legal scholars in the colleges, and the university as a whole, support them. The Faculty of Law admits, teaches, examines and supports a brilliant and diverse student body that hail from all corners of the globe. The Faculty has a low student-to-staff ratio at around 7:1.

The University of Oxford has a few characteristics that make it very different from other law schools. Oxford has the largest doctoral programme (in English) in Law in the world. Oxford has the only graduate degrees in the world that are taught in both tutorials and classes. London School of Economics

Overview

LSE Law is over 100 years old and the law department is one of the largest at the university. The law school has made a significant contribution towards legal education and policy and has some of the best law teachers in the world.

LSE Law is composed of students and staff from various different countries and thus the law school has a strong global outlook in legal research and teaching. King’s College London

Overview

The law school at King’s College London is known as the Dickson Poon School of Law. It is amongst the oldest law schools in the country and is widely regarded as one of the top law schools in the world. The law school was formed nearly 200 years ago and has been essential to the university’s development.

The law school has leading legal researchers and global experts amongst its ranks. The Dickson Poon school of Law was ranked as the best law school in the UK for research in 2014 and the school is constantly seeking to expand its academic team in order to bring in more expertise in new and innovative areas of legal study.

The Dickson Poon School of Law is based in Somerset House and was opened in 2012. The law school was renamed after Sir Dickson Poon CBE provided the largest ever donation to a British or European law school.

The Department of Law and Finance provides a forward-thinking, stimulating and challenging learning environment to a diverse student body.
