Find out More About Clifford Chance

1. International trip

As well as an intensive and engaging schedule of classroom-based activity, you’ll get to visit one of Clifford Chance’s international offices where you’ll be able to see its global network in practice.

This is a fast-paced, varied and exciting opportunity that is designed to give you an insight into the multinational nature of the firm and broaden your experience and help extend your network of contacts.

2. Lawyer shadowing

You will also spend a day shadowing Clifford Chance lawyers in a specific practice area.

This is a great introduction to the type of work you could expect to assist with as a trainee solicitor at Clifford Chance, and is a useful way to understand the pace and quantity of typical work the firm handles every day.

3. Networking

Networking and making new connections is a great way to broaden your horizons, meet new people and find out more about a wide range of different careers from people actually doing the jobs.

Clifford Chance’s SPARK scheme provides a variety of networking opportunities, where you’ll able to meet representatives from all levels within the firm.

4. You get paid

Unlike some work experience schemes, Clifford Chance will pay you to complete a SPARK placement.

If you’re one of them you’ll receive a competitive salary of £350 per week while you’re working at the firm, which is of course a major bonus.

5. Training contract opportunities

The best candidates from the scheme will be invited afterwards to a bespoke SPARK Training Contract assessment day following the scheme.

If you’re successful and offered a training contract with Clifford Chance, you’ll enjoy a wealth of other opportunities during the rest of your degree – including – educational courses, such as business finance and digital awareness, and social events like concerts at the O2.

You’ll also be matched with a ‘trainee buddy’ to help you stay connected – and further develop your relationship – with the firm.

This opportunity is open to first-year university students, as well as second-year students on a four-year course. Be sure to apply, as this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
