The Watson Glaser testis made by Pearson TalentLens and it assesses a potential candidate’s critical thinking skills.
The test is broken down into five sections: inferences, deductions, interpretations, and evaluation of arguments. Each of the sections presents a different style of question.
The test is usually given online, either in the comfort of your own home or (more rarely) at an assessment centre. The length of the test is usually 40 questions to be completed in 30 minutes. In some cases, you might see 80 questions to be completed in an hour.
The test is given across a wide array of professions and can be given to anyone from new graduates to senior managers. The results of the test are usually compared to a “norm group”, specific to the individual company or position.

In this section, you will be expected to draw conclusions based on observed or assumed facts.
You will be presented with a text with a given situation and below there will be a statement that was inferred from the test. You must decide whether the statement is true, probably true, insufficient data (neither true nor false), false, or probably false.

Recognition of Assumption
In this section, you are presented with a statement, and you need to decide if an assumption was made in that statement or not. An assumption is a statement that the reader takes for granted.
You will be given two options when answering—was the assumption made, or not made, within the statement. The purpose of this section is to evaluate your ability to avoid having expectations about things which are not necessarily always true.
In this section, you will be presented with several facts, which will be followed by a series of conclusions. You must decide whether the conclusions can be deduced, or logically inferred, from the statement.
You will be presented with two options when answering: the conclusion logically followed, or the conclusion did not follow.
In this section, you are presented with a short reading which is assumed to be true. You are subsequently provided with a suggested interpretation.
You must decide if that conclusion can logically follow, without a shadow of a doubt, based on the information you that you have been provided. This task requires you to comprehend the set of facts given and then apply the information learned.
When answering, you have two options: the conclusion follows, or the conclusion does not follow.
Evaluation of Arguments
In this section, you will be presented with an argument. You will subsequently be required to identify whether it is a strong or weak argument. An argument is strong if it is correlated to the statement given and considered important.
